Demonstrate your patriotism by attending the Memorial Day Wreath-laying Ceremony at the Boone County Courthouse monuments. Express your gratitude and respect for the hundreds of Boone County veterans who gave their lives in protecting the freedoms we continue to enjoy. We invite you to once again join in this Memorial Day tradition that is now in its 98th year.
This year’s ceremony will be held at
9:00 am on Memorial Day, 26 May 2025
and a traditional event to the day’s Memorial activities.
The 40-minute ceremony sponsored by the General Omar N. Bradley Mid-Missouri Chapter of the Military Officers Association of America will honor our fallen military with wreath presentations by many veterans organizations, music by the Columbia Community Band, the Boone County Fire Protection District Pipes and Drums and military firearms salute by the American Legion Post 202 Honor Guard.
Ceremony will include:

* Gold Star families wreath laying: The Gold Star families participating in the parade will lay wreaths at the monument honoring the Boone County heroes that served our country following the attack upon our nation on Sept 11, 2001
* Flag Ceremony
* 21 Gun Salute
